Happy 2013, frands! I hope you all had a wonderful New Years!
I went to the Snyder Ball at the Charleston Aquarium and had so much fun. And since I had Tuesday off from work, it’s seemed like a super short work week (can’t beat that!). Here’s my Friday Fives for this week…
1. Recent OOTDs
Herringbone vest, J.Crew
Pave bracelet from {Groopdealz}
2. These cookies
{via}
I made these {chocolate chip toffee cookies with sea salt} on Monday to bring to Charleston with us and they are AMAZING. Literally, this is the best cookie I think I’ve ever made or eaten! The sea salt is the perfect addiction of saltiness, and the toffee adds sweetness and chewiness.
Oh my worrrddd, go make these now!
3. Two-toned watches
I am such a sucker for watches. I already have two nice ones, but I’ve been lusting over two-toned watches for a long time now. I’m so tempted to splurge and get either the {gold/white} or {gold/silver} Michael Kors for myself as a little gift! I’m usually a gold girl all the way, but I love the look of gold and silver together in the watch on the right. What do y’all think?
4. This DIY
{via}
How cute is this DIY jewelry dish by Jeanne of {Shop Sweet Things}? This costs less than $5 and takes less than fifteen minutes to make…. it’s actually made using an appetizer plate and black dot stickers! I want to make this ASAP, as soon as I have some free time.
5. Words to live by in 2013
I’ve decided this quote will be my motto for 2013!
Oscar Wilde was a brilliant man, and this quote speaks right to my heart. In 2013, I want to live loudly, be brave, take risks. That includes risks with fashion! I love dressing up, and I’m still continuing to define my own style, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that if you want to pull an outfit off, you have to have the confidence first. If you are comfortable and confident in your skin, then it will shine through you and your style.
Secondly, I always want to continue to educate myself (and I’m not talking about going back to school!). You can sharpen your mind and broaden your horizons by reading a book, opening the newspaper, embracing a new hobby or teaching yourself a new language. I never, ever want to stop learning or challenging myself!
Happy weekend, loves!
Love, Cait
i'm totally with you on your motto for the year! 🙂 ever since i graduated i always have a thirst to learn more– i'm dying to take some french classes!
i hope you have a fantastic new year!
xo
obsessed with your J.Crew vest!! And you definitely picked a great motto for 2013 🙂
i love your goal of always wanting to educate yourself. there are so many ways to do that and i'm looking forward to the various ways i'll be doing that, especially since i graduated from college in april.
that picture of cookies you posted is making my mouth water so badly!
Love these! And your hair is GORGEOUS!
I am obsessed with your Friday Fives! Let me just say, your hair is GORGEOUS! I love your herringbone vest! I also have it and simply adore it. Your pave bracelet looks wonderful paired with your KS Watch. I am definitely going to try that DIY polka dot tray. It's so darling! Last, I adore that quote. Happy Friday 🙂

Love that vest! So unique.
Your vest and hair look great!
I'm loving two-toned watches too. I bought a rose gold/silver Michael Kors watch in the fall. STILL obsessed with it!
This is such a fun post! My sister got that vest for Christmas. It's so cute. And I really love those MK two-tone watches. I have a big gold one and could seriously get on board with getting another one that has both colors. The gold and silver would be so versatile. And the try is really cool. If I ever crafted anything I'd definitely do that.
adore these snapshots – especially the vest and your arm candy!

Your photos are always so beautiful! So are your clothes… you are causing probz in the Gemma household! I love the watch on the left.
Ahh…I love that vest from J.Crew! It keeps talking to me from the window every time I walk by! I have an identical pave link bracelet from J.Crew that I adore.
I get nervous to make cookies like that….I have been known to eat my way to a stomach ache by numerous spoonfuls of batter followed by cookies 30 minutes late.
Is this vest still available in stores? Let me know…Thanks:)
