Good morning from Positano, you guys! I’ve partnered with Tree Hut for today’s blog post, but before launching in I wanted to tell you just a little bit about the brand. You’ve all probably heard of Tree Hut – they are super well-known for their selection of body scrubs and butters (I’ve been using their Shea Sugar Scrub for a long time now – you may remember it from this blog post!). What I love MOST about them is that they source good for you ingredients from all over the world, from African Certified Organic Shea Butter to Indian coconut shells. They are committed to high-quality products, which is why all of them are paraben-free! And Tree Hut just announced the release of even more product forms and fragrances, including my personal new favorite, Bohemian Escape. I even packed them in my suitcase and lugged them all the way to Italy with me (trust me – they are THAT good). Now, let’s get started on my five tips for GLOWING summer skin!
1. Exfoliate
My number one tip for glowing summer skin is to EXFOLIATE! The very things that we love about summertime (spending time outdoors or in the sun, swimming, traveling, etc.) are the same reasons that we need to step up our exfoliation game. Sunscreen, sweat, makeup, and even self-tanner can build up in your pores, leaving your skin feeling dull and congested, and also making your moisturizer less effective. I’ve been using Tree Hut’s Shea Sugar scrub for a while now, and they recently came out with a new scent: Bohemian Escape (which smells like absolute heaven, you guys!). This gentle Shea Sugar Scrub is formulated with Organic Shea Butter and an array of natural oils, including Evening Primrose, Safflower Seed, Sweet Almond, Avocado, and Orange Oil. The real sugar provides an intense exfoliation that polishes skin, leaving you feeling soft and smooth, while the natural oils hydrate skin at the same time. The Bohemian Escape Scrub is also infused with Turmeric and Amla Oil for even more goodness!
2. Self-tan
My next tip should be a no-brainer by now: instead of sunbathing for hours at a time and subjecting your skin to harsh UV rays to get a sunkissed look, just use self-tanner instead! We all know by now how bad the sun is for our skin – I use self-tanner on both my face and body every week. A couple of tips: I like to use the Bohemian Escape Shea Sugar Scrub in the bath tub with a wash cloth to slough off all the dead skin cells before applying self-tanner. I also always use a mitt instead of my hand for an even tan! If I’m traveling, I’ll apply self-tanner every other day, but if I’m at home then once a week is enough.
3. Moisturize
Moisturizing your skin is another key to getting a nice glow in the summer. I like to apply moisturizer right when I get out of the shower, when my skin is still a little damp. This really helps lock in the moisture! Tree Hut’s Bohemian Escape Hydro-light Gel is my new go-to: it’s an ultra-hydrating, lightweight moisturizer, perfect for giving your skin an after-shower treat. Plus the smell will have you believing you’re on a tropical island somewhere!
4. Hydrate
Did you know your skin is an organ? It’s actually the largest organ in your body, and it’s mostly made up of water. Without water, your skin can’t function at its best, and ESPECIALLY in the summertime, when we lose a lot of water from sweating! I had a facial a few weeks ago, an esthetician told me during it that she could tell just from looking at my face that I wasn’t drinking enough water! Since then, I’ve been committed to drinking more. I invested in a nice water filter to keep in my refrigerator, and a new glass tumbler to keep with me at all times (I try to avoid drinking water out of plastic bottles!). It’s also been proven that the more hydrated you are, the fewer wrinkles and fine lines you’ll see. That is reason enough for me!
5. Be Gentle
My last tip, and this is an important one, is to be gentle on your skin. Treat it with kindness, with natural products! Tree Hut’s products are all paraben-free, and you never have to worry about harsh chemicals. Their Bohemian Escape Bubble Bath is a gentle, bubbly formula made with an array of skin loving oils to pamper your skin. It has Organic Shea Butter and Aloe, both of which offer anti-aging benefits and hydration. I looove having a spa night: I’ll light some (beeswax) candles, put on a face mask and lather up in a luscious bath.
All Tree Hut products can be purchased from their website or from Ulta. And today, I’m giving away one set to you guys!! All you have to do is comment below with your favorite summer memory, and I’ll announce the winner next week.
*Thank you to Tree Hut for sponsoring today’s post
Camping in the mountains (East Coast) listening to a waterfall
My favourite summer memory was spent With my high school sweetheart at the time, jumping of the pier into the lake, getting ice cream, sitting on the dock and waiving to sailboats go by. We had one of those portable boom boxes and not a care in the world. We spent all night running around the park, swinging and jut laughing at the most ridiculous things. It truly was what the esscence of young summer is!

Cait this is such a great post an it inspires me so much to do good for my skin! My favorite summer memory was probably a few years back when I went to the Taylor Swift 1989 Tour Concert with my mom, then woke up at 3 am to catch a flight to meet my brother and dad in Newport, Rhode Island! It was so much fun!
PS- I can’t wait to visit all of your recommended places in Italy as I will be going there in less than a month! xo
That bathing suit is sooo cute!! I’ve heard of Tree Hut before and how high-quality ingredients they use in all of their products – which I think is amazing. These three products sounds great, I might pick the sugar scrub up and give it a try!
You look amazing in these photos lovely!

Amazing tips! Over the years I’ve been caring more and more about my skin and now I think I take pretty good care of it even though sometimes I do get lazy but I try my best. I’m gonna check out that brand, it seems amazing.
My favorite summer memory is going to Cape Cod each summer.
Growing up at the beach, not having a care in the world when you’re a teenager! The sun and NO stress!
My favorite summer memories are always our annual vacations in Hilton Head, SC (p.s. I follow you on instagram and saw from your stories that you were just there recently!!). We have been vacationing there from the northeast my entire life, and I always have the best time with my sisters, parents, cousins, and aunts and uncles.
Caitlin, you inspired me to try Tree Hut sugar scrub and I love it! I would love to try this one as well! My favorite summer memories are camping at the beach with my husband and 3 little boys! Some of our favorite family activities: camping, a day spent at the beach and ending the day with a campfire and s’mores. 😊
Yay I love this! Thanks for doing a giveaway❤️My favorite summer memories are going up to our family cabin in Northern Minnesota. I love reading on the dock and spending time on the lake😊
It’s the BEST feeling when your skin is healthy!! Loved walking down an OH pier this past summer watching the sun go down and all the boats out waiting to watch the stars! Love all your looks so much 💕
My favorite summer memory is my first-ever beach vacation. My family didn’t grow up visiting the ocean and now I’m obsessed (we have been on multiple cruises and moved down near Virginia Beach!)
My husband of 12.5 years is my Dream-giver and my first beach vacation was also the first for my daughter (we got married and started a family at 23!)
I’m so thankful for his love and this life we truly have built together from so little. Now we visit beaches and the ocean far more often with our two children, but the treasure of the beach never gets less magical…so thrilled to make summer memories for our children!
My favorite summer memory is when I went fishing at Lake Gaston with my boyfriend and both of our parents. We caught a HUGE catfish off the dock; it had to be at least 3 feet long (not exaggerating). After taking a few pictures with it, we were going to throw it back in the lake. My boyfriend picked up the catfish, did spin and let it fly. But the catfish landed on the dock, and he and landed on his back in the water! He had this expression on his face like ‘what the heck just happened?!’ I’m not sure I have ever seen my dad laugh so hard. I still chuckle when I think about it. Anyway, I like reading your posts. Thanks and keep it up!
Wow theses pictures are stunning, you look beautiful!!

My favorite summer memory was the summer I spent in Germany when I was 16! Even though it was a long time ago, it’s still the best summer of my life. I stayed with a host family, went to a German school for a few weeks, travelled all over Germany and went to Amsterdam too! The best part of staying in Germany was meeting my host sister who remains one of my best friends. I went back to her hometown last year for her wedding, all these years later!
My favorite summer memory is eating fresh black raspberry pie! I grew up in 5 acres of woods, and the black raspberries grow wild. Nothing says summer and 4th of July than this dessert. When I was little, I used to tell my mom: “more berries!”
My favorite summer memory is when my mother and I went on a Mediterranean cruise. We traveled to several countries in two weeks including the Amalfi Coast area. It is indeed very surreal, and was so nice to be able to experience that with my mother. As Mother’s Day approaches I still think about that trip to this day and how I will never forget it.
I’m not sure if this is my favorite summer memory, but it’s one of my fondest. When I was in high school, my dad had a swimming pool business and worked long hours. One summer, my mom, sister, and I helped him clean pools, and I just remember the 4 of us riding around in his truck endlessly blasting the Jonas Brothers CD while it was like 110 degrees hahah. My dad kept getting us lemonades and treats cause it was such hard work in the heat! It doesn’t sound very fun, but for some reason I love looking back on it.
Camping in the New Mexico mountains with my grandparents. Great memories
Your skin looks amazing! I’d love to know which self-tanners you use and recommend. My favorite summer memories almost always involve a beach, my family, and lots of unscheduled time. It’s the little things!
Going to the beach! 🙂
I lived in Florida when I was 13 and one of my best memories was going to Wekiwa Springs with friends or family and floating the river and watching people dive down to the caves. Such a cool area! 🙂
My favorite summer memory is stargazing late at night while camping in the Sierra Nevada with my husband and brother in law. We saw shooting stars in the incredibly clear night sky!
Going on. Cruise with my family!
Most treasured summer memory with just my husband and I, is an anniversary trip we took to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in early to mid June. The whole coastline highway of British Columbia was beautiful with every snow-capped mountain to azure blue sea to forests and fern-filled parks.
The city of Victoria took out breath away, flowers and sea and gorgeous old buildings and the sparkling sweet breezes, the air was like champagne. It would be so easy to write a novel-length memoir so I’ll end by just saying we have returned many times and the enchantment only increases.
I LOVE the Sugar Scrub!!! Their products are really good quality!!!
My favorite summer memory was from 1996 and dancing at the Coca-Cola Village with the Coca-Cola Kids during the Summer Olympics in Atlanta!
My favorite summer memory is spending the week at our Lake House with my whole family and being out on the boat and reading every day!
My favorite summer memory is my wedding day in Central Park over 5 years ago (8/11/2013)! We now have a baby boy, and this will be his first summer 🙂 We look forward to creating new, fun summer memories with him!
Caitlyn, what self-tanner do you use?
My favorite summer memory is when I went hiking on Isle Royale for a week! It was my first time backpacking and such an amazing experience. I saw so much wildlife and definitely got a taste of nature!
xoxo

My fav summer memory is roadtripping across the country with my grandparents!
Definitely going to the Outer Banks with my family! 🙂 I love the beach and can’t wait to go this summer!
I love your posts btw, I might have to give these a try!
Thanks for sharing! I have never heard of this brand actually, so I am really excited to try them out!
My favorite summer memory was actually last summer when my family decided to go to Montana vs the usual beach/tropical location (I’m from AL). And we did horseback riding and paragliding off the Tetons…it was amazing! But, this year I’m def ready for a tropical vacation 🙂
Skirt info please.🌷
It’s actually a bath towel 🙂 I have it wrapped around my waist because I just got out of the pool!
Have you looked up their products on the think dirty app? They contain more chemicals than you think! The app also shows lots of alternatives that contain less toxins and are more natural 🙂
