Friday Favorites

This week’s Friday Favorites are all about, can you guess it? FALL! Fall is in full swing over here from pumpkin drinks to spooky books and football tailgates!

1. Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte

I recently had this drink for the first time and now I’m OBSESSED. Even if you don’t like Chai Tea – or don’t think you do – you need to try it! This rich and creamy iced drink features a blend of black tea infused with cinnamon, warming spices and milk, topped with a sweet pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice topping. It’s still got all the cozy flavor of pumpkin spice, but it’s cool and creamy!

2. A Lullaby For Witches, by Hester Fox

I just finished this book and LOVED it! It’s wonderfully atmospheric and magical – the perfect book for October! This one is told in two different timelines with differing points of view in each timeline. First, we have Margaret Harlowe, a young woman from a well-to-do New England family who never quite fit in with her peers. And 150 years later, we have Augusta Podos, whose life is finally starting to turn around when she gets a new job at the historical Harlowe House. At least, she thinks so, until she begins to realize that Margaret is haunting her. This witchy tale is a story of love, betrayal, obsession and revenge and is 100% worth the read!

3. Non-Toxic Laundry Detergent

I don’t know if it’s because Kenny has just started school, but we have been doing a lot of laundry lately! I just ordered a few more bags of Molly’s Suds on Amazon and it reminded me how much I really love this non-toxic detergent. Conventional laundry detergents like Tide, All, Gain and even Mrs. Meyer’s and Seventh Generation contain a number of harsh and toxic chemicals (even Tide Free & Clear was found to have concerning levels of 1,4-dioxane – a carcinogen associated with cancer and organ system toxicity). Molly’s Suds contains no harsh chemicals, parabens, GMOs, toxins, preservatives, aluminum, synthetic dyes, phthalates, surfactants, or fragrances. It’s safe for sensitive skin and for those with eczema. They make a specific Baby Laundry Detergent Powder that is specially formulated to work on formula, poop and spit-up stains, but we have always used the Original Unscented – it works great for the entire family (even Chris’s stinky workout clothes).

Side note – even though we use an unscented laundry detergent, I still want my clothes to smell nice! I use a few drops of lavender essential oil on these wool balls and throw them in the dryer and viola!

4. Stanley Ghost Name Topper

I recently ordered these Stanley Ghost Toppers for everyone in my life – myself, mom and our nanny (I even tried to order one for my husband but he said absolutely not, hahah). They are so freakin’ cute and make me smile whenever I go to take a sip of water! I may or may not have also ordered a black Stanley to fit the Halloween theme (just waiting for it to get here!).

5. Tailgate Season

Kind of a generic one, yes, but I am really getting into tailgate season this year!! We took Kennedy to her first Clemson game this past weekend and had a BLAST tailgating before the game. We dressed Kenny in the cutest lil Clemson cheerleading outfit and she had the best time. We had tons of snacks, juice boxes, CAKE, and even blasted kids songs through our speaker – lol. I wore this sequin football top with denim shorts and white cowboy boots. (Side note – ALL the college kids were wearing cowboy boots!!!)

Until next time!

xoxo

Still too warm here in Virginia Beach for me to think about Fall/Winter weather. Have not looked yet to pull out Fall/Winter clothes. Just got home from San Antonio Texas where several of the days were in high 90F to 102F. For me I don’t think about boots till its under 50F. Happy job didn’t send me to Long Island this week , Nothing but rain up there. Nuts. Love the cute cheerleader outfit on the little one.

What was the name of the other book you were reading? You mentioned it might be to scary to finish. I only saw the Lullaby for Witches.
