Happy Wednesday, everyone! I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite ways to wind down at night – this Winter I really struggled with anxiety and stress, and I learned that winding down before bed is IMPERATIVE if I want to get a good night’s sleep! I start by turning my phone on “Do Not Disturb” mode, and try not to look at it for the rest of the night. You would not believe how much of a stress-reliever it is to not check Instagram comments or text messages – those can all wait until the morning! Here are five more of my very favorite ways to wind down:
1. Light a Candle
I’m a crazy candle person – there’s usually always one burning in my house because I love how they smell, and I love the calming effect they can have on your emotions. Today is actually the launch of Kendra Scott’s NEW candle line and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! In addition to Kendra Scott’s home collection, they have just come out with four unique candle scents. I own the candles in two scents – amethyst and rose quartz and I love burning them at the same time in different areas of my house. Rose quartz is the one I love to light at night in my bedroom – I swear I can feel the tension easing out of my shoulders when the scent fills the room! It’s AMAZING!
2. Take a Bath
I have mentioned this plenty of times on my blog before, but I LOVE baths. I find them so relaxing at night! Lately I have been filling the bath with lavender epsom salts and soaking for 15 minutes every night. The epsom salts help soothe sore muscles, which has been really helpful since I’ve been trying to work out more!
3. Pour a Glass
My favorite wine at the moment is rosé, and pouring a glass before bed really helps me unwind (especially if you drink it while you’re in the bath tub!!).
4. Face Mask
I love putting on sheet masks at night for several reasons: the first is that they’re great for your skin, and the second is that for ten minutes you’re FORCED to not do anything! You have to lay back on a pillow with the mask on your face, you can’t even check your phone or read. Try to calm your mind during this time and stray away from stressful thoughts or your To-Do List.
5. Netflix and Chill
I would love to know your favorite way to unwind at night – let me know in the comment section! And be sure to check out Kendra Scott’s new candle line and follow along on the @KendraScott x @liketoknow.it.home Takeover on April 9th! 🙂
xoxo

I find that disconnecting from my phone and computer are actually super essential to less stress and better rest. It's actually amazing how much better I sleep on the nights where I consciously "un-plug".

I really loved this Cait! I find doing face masks so relaxing at night, and funnily enough I find exercising in the evening relaxing too! Especially after a stressful day!
Happy Wednesday!

The love The Office, too! It just gets funnier and funnier the more times I see it!
I love doing all of these to unwind. I’ve started actually making my own bath salts with pink Himalayan sea salt and essential oils. It’s so nice and a great detox!

Great ideas! Netflix is definitely my go-to. We just finished Ozark and I'm watching Mad Men now. Maybe I should find something a little lighter. 😉 XO
I love a good glass of wine (or 3 hahah) in the bath!

I love this post, thanks for sharing! It makes me feel better to hear I'm not the only one who's struggled with anxiety and stress while being engaged! I've found that waking up early to eat my breakfast and read some devotions and then take some extra time to sit and read a book I want to read while I drink my coffee helps me start my day happy and calm.. and I have notes in my phone of positive reinforcements and verses and quotes for when I'm feeling anxious or worried. Those help too! <3
So after I read this, we totally started rewatching The Office tonight, from season 1. I'm laughing so hard! ☺️
I love the picture frame! Where are the mercury glass lamps from in this post?
Obsessed with your nighttime ritual! I adore the Kendra Scott jewelry, so I was excited to see the candle line come out. Thank you for your great tips for unwinding!
Candles are my fav!
