poncho (comes in four colors!) // black ruched dress // similar wool hat // suede boots, similar here // Chanel boy bag, similar but less expensive here
Good morning and HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL, you guys!!! I know I usually do “Monday Motivation” posts today but I couldn’t help but share one of my favorite fall outfits with you today… and, my fall bucket list! Every year I create a fall bucket list of things I want to accomplish. I feel like it really helps me soak up the fall season, otherwise, the time passes by quickly and the season gets away from me! (Don’t worry, though, I have a super fun and fall themed Monday Motivation post coming at you next week.)
Let’s talk about this outfit first: my checkered poncho comes in four different colors, but I’m really loving the white. I paired it with this black ruched dress (which y’all have seen me wear a thousand times) as well as a wool hat and tall boots. I am really loving the white, black, and camel color palette for fall. Now if only we could get a pop of color with some fall foliage, and we would be set!
Okay, now for my fall bucket list π Here are my Top 20 things I want to do this fall season:
- Go on a REAL camping trip (and sleep in a tent!)
- Make s’mores over a fire
- Carve a pumpkin
- Decorate my front porch for fall
- Learn how to make a healthier version of pumpkin bread
- Read at least two classic fall novels
- Watch Halloweentown
- Visit New England in the fall
- Tailgate at a football game
- Find an essential oil mix that smells like autumn
- Take a fall foliage drive through the mountains
- Try a new fall shade of lipstick
- Buy some fuzzy Halloween socks
- Wear flannel
- Make a donation to a food bank
- Make a gratitude list
- Make homemade butternut squash soup
- Take more scenery pictures (and less outfit photos)
- Paint my nails a darker color – like burgundy
- Buy some local honey or jam
I’d love to hear what you have on your fall bucket list! π xoxo
Taking more scenery photos is also one of my fall bucket list goals! Virginia has so much pretty foliage and I want to capture it all haha!

Creating a seasonal bucket list is such a great idea Caitlin! I know this feeling of not getting the most out of a season and suddenly it’s already mid-winter haha. Definitely going to do my own fall bucket list!

Gorgeous outfit! Happy to see ponchos are still in. π
I made a homemade, totally from scratch butternut squash soup last fall and it was amazing! So good, I made it again and brought it to Thanksgiving. AND…the recipe was from a local winery, not Pinterest! Happy to share with you if you have a SC&P email address I can send it to. βΊοΈ
That would be amazing!! My email address is southerncurlsandpearls@gmail.com π
Love this outfit! So cute – I’m definitely going to check out that hat!

Not a soup but I have a recipe from βThe Daily Garnishβ for Butternut Squash Enchiladas (not my site) that are amazing. Add chilies since you like spice and you can use Siete tortillas.
Simple Mills makes a grain-free, refined sugar free, pumpkin bread mix but itβs not scratch. I love your list so much! Thank you for sharing it.
I read bram stokers Dracula last fall and was surprised to find out how much I enjoyed it. I read it just a few nights with a hot apple cider!
I love this post!! I would add to the bucket list: Go apple picking ( I live in NJ and there are orchards everywhere), and make a homemade apple pie π
This is such a cute look! I love fall, can’t wait for the cooler temps!

Great post Caitlin, You look amazing !
For your essential oils blend, try five drops Cinnamon and two drops Nutmeg… it’s fall PERFECTION. I’ve been diffusing that for a couple of weeks now and I can’t get enough!
I really want to go to a pumpkin patch and carve a pumpkin! Also, FINALLY try a PSL! I’ve only had a sip of one before, but I want to try a full one! Cheers to being basic βοΈ

the best butternut squash soup recipe. I only use 5-6 oz of cream cheese and it still tastes delicious without all the added calories! You could also use soaked cashews to add the creaminess to get rid of the dairy!
Caitlin, I loved your fall list! It included some truly high quality autumn experiences, but I also loved that you made it more well rounded with opportunities to give back, focus on well-being, and trying new things. Best wishes as you check items off your list!
Just added this poncho to my cart! I love Abercrombie and their clothing is great quality. Plus they’re having a sale so another bonus for me (haha)
Also great bucket-list! I just decorated my front porch for Fall and I think I’m going to try and make pumpkin break this weekend. Please share your recipe once you check this off your bucket-list.
As always, thank you for sharing fun and inspiring posts!

Great stylization. I really liked your look. π
I can help with the essential oil! Anthropologie’s Pumpkin Clover is to die for. xx
My favorite fall essential oil combo to diffuse is Thieves and Orange. I have it going now!
Do you have any post with the details of your wedding bands and right hand rings?? They look so beautiful in your photos! π
