Last week, my mom and I headed to Chateau Elan Winery & Resort for some pampering and wine – it was the perfect pre-Mother’s Day getaway (if you’ve been following me for a while now, you’re probably aware that my mom and I are best friends!). If you’re not familiar, Chateau Elan is a little bit north of Atlanta – it’s about a three and a half hour drive from Charlotte, which isn’t bad at all. When you first drive in, the winery is absolutely stunning – it looks like it’s straight out of Italy! There’s also an inn and a spa right on the property, and shuttles run to and fro each so that you never have to drive anywhere. My mom and I stayed in one of the spa rooms, which I highly recommend. There are fourteen suites located in the spa… each room is beautifully decorated with tones of blue and white, and big comfortable beds. The thing I loved about it most was the calming sense throughout the whole spa – there are no coffee makers anywhere in the spa (because they want to keep it quiet!) so they deliver coffee and/or tea each morning right to your room.
My mom and I both had the “seasonal facial” at the Chateau Elan spa – it was absolutely magical. Not only was my skin glowing afterward, but it was one of the most relaxing experience I think I’ve ever had. The facial itself is amazing, but then they give you a hand and foot massage with chocolate paraffin (so good I wanted to eat it!). After our spa treatments, my mom and I headed to a wine tasting at the winery – that was probably our favorite part! We learned the proper way to taste wine (how to “chew” and “slurp” the wine), and got to taste a lot of different ones. We both ended up buying a bottle of the Dolce Rosso and the Summer Wine (a muscadine wine with peach added). Not only was the wine amazing, but the food was out of this world! My mom said over and over again how they were the best meals she had ever eaten. I highly recommend lunch at Fleur-de-Lis and dinner at Cafe Elan. Definitely check out their website for more information on the wines, the winery, inn and spa. This seems like such a great day trip!! I love all of your and your mothers outfits. It was such a great mother daughter trip for you guys! I also so surprised that I am from Atlanta and I have never traveled to Chateau Elan, I really need to take a trip. The spa sounds amazing and that is something that my mom and I both love so I will have to convince her to go one day soon.
