Have you guys heard of PLAY! by Sephora? It’s a monthly beauty subscription box curated by Sephora – they samples of the most sought-after beauty products each month, so you can try them all! I received my first box last week… I’m no YouTuber but I LOVE watching unboxings on YouTube… so here’s a little unboxing, blog style 🙂
The PLAY! by Sephora box was easy to spot on my front porch, because of the gorgeous black and white stripes! (And yes, this is actual footage of what my front porch looked like that day haha! We get a lot of boxes!) I immediately beelined for my PLAY! subscription box and went inside to open it.
The box comes with five trial-size samples (plus a beauty bonus), all in a collectible bag (the bag varies each month!). I immediately caught on to the theme of this month’s box – back to school! Since back to school was almost my favorite time of year growing up, I was excited to see what was inside.
The box comes with a guide to how to use each of the sample products. This particular guide had a fun little beauty pop quiz to go along with the “back to school” theme. The whole guide looked like a composition notebook that I used back in school!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel
“This no-fuss, clear gel is suitable for any brow color. It sets hair inlace with a conditioning chamomile formula and doesn’t leave a residue.” I have CRAZY brows sometimes (thanks, dad) so I’m excited to use this!
Ouai Volume Spray
“This lightweight spray visibly thickens strands while protecting and conditioning them without leaving behind any sticky residue. It’s idea for thin or fine hair that needs a lift.” In my opinion, the bigger the hair the better, so I’m excited to try this!
Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Serum
“In as few as seven days, this fast-acting serum can visibly improve skin’s elasticity and firmness with its patented formula featuring bifidus extract. Plus it keeps skin hydrated while making the rest of your routine work harder.” This product has amazing reviews… the closer I get to 30, the more I want to slow down the aging process. I’ll update you on how this serum works in a few weeks!
Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211
“Your lips will be voted most likely to look flawless with this intensely saturated shade. The ultra-creamy formula hydrates lips so color won’t dry out, while the bullet’s shape allows for precise application.” I haven’t tried this brand before, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the lipstick is very pigmented and has a lot of staying power, while remaining moisturizing at the same time.
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara
“The creme formula makes lashes look visibly fuller and thicker and allows for build able volume and length. Ideal for all-daywear, it doesn’t require touch-ups and won’t smudge or flake.” I ALREADY use this every single day so I was pumped! This size is perfect to carry around with me in my handbag.

I love the Play! boxes! I've been subscribed for a year and it's so much fun to see what's in each box every month–and I've found some items I can no longer live without!
I just started my subscription and I already love it!
I've been getting Sephora Play! for a few months now & I love it so much more than the Ipsy I was previously getting-the samples are so much better (things I will actually like to use!) and when I like something, I know where to purchase it full size!
