Woohoo it’s Friday!! I am currently sitting in the airport waiting to board my flight to Seattle, so I thought it was a good time to do an instagram roundup plus some general updates on my life.
The photo below is one of my favorite outfits that I’ve worn recently… It’s still suitable for cold weather, but the pink shoes make it a little more spring-like.
fur vest (only $42!) // similar white blouse // distressed jeans // YSL handbag // Kendra Scott earrings
Oh… this skirt. How I live and die for this skirt. And it’s only $42! I can’t wait to style it a few more ways when it warms up outside. (A quick note about the retailer – shipping usually takes 2-3 weeks because the items are made overseas. I usually get express shipping to speed things up!)
Charlotte has had quite a few snow days recently… the perfect opportunity to pull out my Hunter boots and sip on hot coffee (my mug is from the Starbucks store… I’m not sure if it’s still available, but they always have really cute ones!).
I love the pops of red in this outfit…
I’m a teeny bit obsessed with this spring blouse and can’t stop imagining how it will look when I’m actually tan! Haha! (Also, my phone case is Kate Spade but I bought it at the Verizon store – I can’t find it online).
SoCal Gems earrings (sold out), similar here
I love layers. I think you can put a good chambray shirt under almost any sweater and it instantly adds some style! I wore this look to play trivia with my friends last week.
We all need a little motivation sometimes, and this travel mug provides just that. I am all about girl power (and the color pink!).
This is what my desk scene looked like one day this week when I was working from home…
And finally, if you haven’t checked out Rachel’s new jewelry collection – the Pink Peonies collection – you need to do so now! I’m obsessed with every piece, but especially these delicate tassel earrings.
As for some life updates, I want to be really honest with you guys about something. You may (or may not) have noticed that I haven’t been posting pictures of my boyfriend recently, and it’s because we broke up. I know that I told you all I thought he was “the One,” and I really did, truly believe that… but, things change and I really don’t know what to say, other than I was wrong. I think it’s proof that God is the ONLY one who knows what’s best for our lives, not us.
When I first started this blog, I never intended for it to be as “public” as it is today. It is REALLY hard and scary to reveal personal things on the Internet for the whole world to see… the point of this blog is to share my outfits with you, not my personal life, and I have been burned from sharing too much personal stuff in the past. However, I did think you all should know.
On another note, I’m also moving to a new apartment in Charlotte at the end of March. I’m so excited to share my new place with y’all and include you in the process of decorating it. I’m pretty much starting from scratch as far as furniture goes, so… it will definitely be an adventure!
Finally, I just want to thank you guys for continuing to come back here every day. You guys make the good days great, and the bad days bearable. Your encouragement, support, and shared love of fashion really mean the world to me.
Xoxo

I've been following along on your blog for a few months, and think you are the cutest thing ever! As I was reading your post, this quote came to mind..“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” Praying for your heart during this time, thankfully the Lord is faithful in all seasons. 🙂
Praying for you <3
I'm so sorry about your break-up and I wish you all the best!!! Be strong and happy cause life is beautiful even in these sad moments 🙂
Anyway love your pink pumps !!!!

Great outfits as usual, and I'll be thinking about you as you heal and process this change. And good luck with your move too!!
Everyone crosses our paths for a reason – when you do find "the one" your bumpy path to each other will all make sense! Have faith, and put all your love into friends and family in the mean time! Spring is just around the corner 🙂

Girl your bags are perfection!! <3
I'm so sorry to hear about you and your boyfriend. All I can say is that I truly believes everything happens for a reason and if I ended up with the first guy I thought was "the one" I would not be married to my incredible husband right now.

Love the striped skirt and good to know that it takes extra time to come in. Thanks for the express shipping tip!
Also so sorry to hear about you and your boyfriend, but appreciate your honesty. I think sometimes following along with blogs we forget that we don't actually know the person in real life (kind of creepy hah) but when they share something personal it really helps us relate and be reminded that life isn't always about picture perfect moments but about being true to yourself:) Thanks for sharing and sending positive vibes your way!

So sorry to hear about your break up but it's better to break off something that was not the right match and make "space" for the right things and guy to come into your life, than sticking to something that is not working but cling on to it because it's what is "safe" or got used to.
Moving and starting from scratch is def. not an easy task but to make it a little bit easier for you, I'm moving all the way from Europe to LA in 4 days from now and I'm coming with only two big travel cases and one laptop bag.
I have just emptied my whole apartment today and have packed up all of my bags, so right now, I can say that I'm starting completely from scratch too! 😀

Super Excited to see how you decorate your apartment! stay positive girl.
I've been following along with your Instagram and blog daily for the past 6(ish) months, and just want you to know that you are responsible for a lot of fabulous outfits I've worn lately. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate so much, you being open and vulnerable with your readers, as hard as it is sometimes. It makes you much more relatable. Being a 20-something and trying to find your path is hard sometimes, but you're doing wonderfully!
Really enjoy reading along every day! As a really cute mug I've seen says, "Girl, you've got this!" 🙂 XO
I'm sorry about your breakup! You seem to be an awesome girl, and your amazing attitude will take you far 🙂 As for these outfits, they are so cute! I love your striped skirt, your heart sweater, and the super cute tassel earrings from Rachel's line! Seriously girl you are gorgeous! Can't wait to see your new apartment 🙂

Breakups are hard even when it's for the best. You are a beautiful girl and I'm sure you will meet the person who is truly right for you. Everything happens for a reason. I can't wait to see how you decorate your apartment. Love all of your outfits.
Aww Caitlin I am so sorry to hear about the break up – I too know how awkward it is when you are a fashion blogger and your personal life has to be a bit discussed, but you'd rather not get into the details. I am actually sharing a personal update (relating to work stuff) on Monday, and it's been stressful preparing it!
Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see pics of your new apartment/decor!!!!

I want to thank YOU for all of your posts! I love seeing your outfits and often come by for inspirations for my own wardrobe! I am so sorry to hear about your break up, but appreciate your honesty with sharing it. It can be so scary to put yourself out there for the world to see. I will be sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way, especially in preparation for your move! Moving is one of the most stressful processes I have done to date and I seriously dread the next time I do it again.

so SO sorry to hear about your boyfriend. I recommend meditating on Isiah 41:10, which says: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." It's helped me before.
And decorating a new apartment will be just perfect! Be sure to share your decorating ideas with us <3

I love your looks.

I have been following your blog for a couple of years now and I always appreciate the personal updates. 🙂 I think that's what makes a blog a blog! (Don't get me wrong, I love the fashion, too!) Keep doing what your doing. I am sorry to hear about the breakup though; that's never easy!
Thinking of you. I look forward to talking to you when you return. I've been in your shoes many, many times.

I'm just catching up on blogs so I'm sorry this is so delayed. I'm sorry to hear about your relationship but you are correct that God has the best plans ahead for you. I'm glad you were able to take some time away with all of your travels. Now you can focus on your amazing apartment and all of your personal success with the blog. It's crazy to think that just about three years ago we were graduating UNC and where we are now!
