Helloooo and welcome to this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Guide! I shopped in store yesterday and wanted to get this blog post up as soon as possible for those of you who are shopping today!

If you’re unsure what the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is, just know that it’s basically a fall sale in July – these are the pieces I end up wearing all fall and winter long. Not only are they discounted prices (which means you save money!), but they’re high quality items from brands you trust.

I was really, really happy with my purchases this year! My Nordstrom store did not have as big of a selection as usual, so I definitely left the store with less items than usual. However, the items I did buy, I truly love. If you have any question at all about any of the items I bought, please let me know in the comments! I will be responding to comments and questions there. 

My sizing and height for reference: I often get asked my height and normal size to help you decide what size to order. I normally wear a size XS and a 25 in denim. If I say something is “TTS,” that means “true-to-size” and means that I just got my usual size. As for height, I am 5’3 and a half (that extra half inch matters! 😉 )

Nordstrom Stripe Long Sleeve Button-Up Shirt in “Blue Thread Banded Stripe”

• Sizing: Fits oversized, size up two sizes if you want to wear it as a dress
• Quality: This is technically a shirt, but I thought it would make such a cute dress! I LOVE IT. I sized up two sizes to a medium and it’s a perfect fit. I also think it would be cute belted – to add a little definition!

Paige Keely Knee High Boots in “Cognac”

• Sizing: TTS, I’m wearing a size 7
• Quality: These knee high boots come in two different colors and have quite a high heel – a little over three inches tall. For such a high heel, they’re surprisingly comfortable! These are my favorite tall boots from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year, they are the perfect tan color and they somehow went with every single dress I tried on!

Madewell Dedham Stripe Polo Sweater

• Sizing: TTS, I’m wearing a small because it’s all my store had!
• Quality: Stripes have been so “on trend” this summer and they aren’t going anywhere in the fall! This sporty sweater is made from a warm cotton blend and is SO thick and soft in person. You can tell that it’s an expensive piece! I love the subtle detailing of the sleeves and split polo neck.

MOTHER The Hustler Frayed Ankle Jean in “Meet Cute”

• Sizing:  TTS, I’m wearing size 25
• Quality: My favorite jeans from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year! They managed to go with every single pair of shoes that I tried on (from sandals to ballet flats to booties!). They have cropped cutoff legs, a slightly flared silhouette and they’re high-waisted, making them super flattering for every figure.

Dolce Vita Azalea Pointed Toe Bootie in “Camel Suede”

• Sizing:  TTS, I’m wearing a size 7 
• Quality: Believe it or not, these are the ONLY booties I purchased from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year! They were by far the cutest pair, and I *love* them. The stacked heel definitely elevates this bootie, along with the pointed toe and the rich camel color. The color is GORGEOUS in person – these will seriously match any fall outfit!

Billabong Breezy Palms Floral Cotton Sundress

• Quality: This may be one of my favorite dresses from the sale! The pattern is SO cute in person. It’s a great transitional dress that looks great with both boots and sandals – you could totally pair with a cardigan in the fall. It’s also a great length for my 5’3 self!

• Quality: This sweater feels so high-quality! I’m telling you, it feels like it’s worth at least $100!! I love the cropped fit- it’s perfect for high-waisted jeans and doesn’t show any stomach. I’m kicking myself for not getting it in the blush pink color!

MOTHER High Waist Fray Hem Flare Leg Jeans in “Easy Does It”

• Sizing:  TTS, I’m wearing a size 25 
• Quality: These jeans are so flattering – they make your legs look so long and lift your booty, too! They are great quality in true MOTHER fashion (I am still wearing my MOTHER jeans from five years ago – they last forever!). These are high-waisted with a touch of stretch for comfort, and I think the flare leg and raw hems on these jeans are perfect for wearing with booties this fall.

Free People Swim Too Deep Turtleneck Sweater in “Olive Stone”

• Sizing: Fits oversized, but size up two sizes if you want to wear it as a dress
• Quality: This sweater is actually supposed to be a top, but I sized up two sizes to make it a dress. I bought this same sweater from last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in the “tea” color. I was so happy to see it back again this year and in this new olive color – it’s perfect for fall!

Sam Edelman Molly Knee High Boot in “Light Golden Caramel”

• Sizing: Runs large, size down a half size
• Quality: These boots are going to be an absolute staple in my closet this fall! An elongated squared-off toe elegantly finishes this boot and elongates your legs. They also have a lower heel (2.5 inches), which makes them comfortable to wear. And they’re made of real suede!

It was a tad long on me; I belted this dress but if you’re a taller girl, I think it would hit perfect! This dress comes in three different colors – black, dusted blue, and classic cream.

Topshop Cable Crop Cardigan in “Mushroom”

• Quality: This outfit was at THE TOP of my Wish List this year, and I’m so glad I was able to snag it in person! I honestly couldn’t decide between this color and the grey – they’re both beautiful. This cardigan has gorgeous cable detailing, tortoise buttons and is made from a soft and heathery yarn blend (10% wool!). I would totally style this cardigan with jeans, as well!

• Quality: The cable knit detailing in this skirt is absolutely beautiful. It’s made from a soft and heathery yarn blend (10% wool!) and I love the deep side slit to show some leg. I think it would be equally as beautiful paired with a cream tank, tee or sweater!

One touch and you can tell that this is a high-quality dress – it feels like the original price should be closer to $200! Just trust me on this one.

• Quality: This is one of my favorite purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I could NOT believe the price for this high-quality bodysuit – only $22!!! I ended up buying it in both black and white. The material is really thick and ribbed – it’s also a super flattering cut with extended shoulders and a square neck. Wear by itself in the summer and pair with a cardigan or jacket in the fall!

AG Saige High Waist Ankle Wide Leg in “Crosswind”

• Sizing: Size down! I am normally a size 25 and I got a size 24 in these.
• Quality: These jeans are so trendy with the wide legs – I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about them, but I actually love them! They’re SO comfortable since the fit is a little loose, and they’re made from light-wash non stretch denim that is such a pretty color in person. These do fit a little lower on the hips (they’re not high-waisted!) so keep that in mind when ordering.

Stuart Weitzman Landon Pointed Toe Ballet Flat in “Adobe/Black”

• Sizing: I sized down a half size in these. I’m normally a size 7 and am wearing a size 6.5. If in between sizes, size down a half size.
• Quality: These might be my favorite ballet flats of all time! The pointed toe is so flattering and the little black bow is so chic and will pair well with outfits from summer to fall. Yes, they are still a splurge, but you get what you pay for with Stuart Weitzman shoes – the quality is outstanding and they last for years and years.

• Quality: These shorts are definitely going to sell out fast! They are super flowy and perfect for running errands or chasing the girls around! They even have POCKETS and a built-in liner for security. These shorts come in three different colors – Platinum, Electric Cobalt, and Powder Pink.

• Quality: I own these sneakers in another color and LOVE them, so I was so excited when Nordstrom released this all white color for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year! They are SO cute and will go with so many different outfits. I have a feeling these will be one of the first items to sell out!

• Sizing: Size up one size! I’m wearing a small
• Quality: I am in my jumpsuit era and I LOVE this one from Zella. It has cropped flare pant legs and a really cute back (perfect for wearing your hair in a ponytail!). This would also be so cute styled with a cardigan or denim jacket.
